Every tree RSWF plants is chosen to belong — native to the region, suited to the soil, and selected to rebuild the web of life around it. Our reforestation work is guided by the same principle behind our Urban Butterfly Conservation Initiative: biodiversity recovers fastest when we plant what already belongs on the land.

A young sapling rarely survives on its own. Grazing animals, foot traffic, and weather take a heavy toll in the first two years. A bamboo tree guard is often the difference between a sapling that establishes and one that doesn't.
