Animal Welfare
India is home to millions of animals who share our streets, our neighbourhoods, and our lives — yet remain among the most vulnerable and least protected. At RSWF, we believe that how we treat animals is a direct reflection of our society's values. Our animal welfare work is rooted in over 15 years of ground-level experience — in rescue, care, conflict resolution, and advocacy for a more humane world.
What We Do
“Our work spans the full spectrum of community animal care — from immediate rescue and medical intervention to long-term systemic change through awareness, advocacy, and institutional engagement.”

Our Approach
RSWF's animal welfare work is grounded in an animal rights framework — the belief that all animals, regardless of species, have an inherent right to live free from exploitation and suffering. This conviction shapes not just our rescue work, but our advocacy, our education programmes, and the way we engage with institutions and communities.
Beyond isolated acts of kindness — we work to change the systems, norms, and behaviours that make animal suffering routine. That means working with governments on policy, with colleges on culture, and with communities on compassion.
