Values:
To build a humane, green, and responsible society, where animals are protected, the environment is respected, and citizens actively shape their communities.
A world where every animal is treated with dignity, every ecosystem is actively protected, and every citizen has the knowledge, tools, and agency to take responsibility for their community.
Five values — one for each of the foundational commitments that runs through all three of RSWF's focus areas.
1. Compassion We believe that how a society treats its most vulnerable — animals, ecosystems, and marginalised people — is a measure of its character. Compassion is not sentiment; it is a deliberate practice that guides every intervention we undertake.
2. Accountability We hold ourselves to the same standards we advocate for in public life. Our work is transparent, our finances are open, and our outcomes are documented — because trust must be earned, not assumed.
3. Civic Courage Real change requires people who are willing to speak up, show up, and persist. We cultivate the belief that ordinary citizens have both the right and the responsibility to shape the world around them — and we build the confidence to act on it.
4. Ecological Integrity We recognise that human wellbeing, animal welfare, and environmental health are inseparable. Every decision we make — from the programmes we design to the resources we consume — is held against the question: does this leave the world better than we found it?
5. Inclusion The problems we address affect everyone, but they do not affect everyone equally. We actively seek out the communities most impacted — by stray animal crises, pollution, or civic neglect — and centre their voices and needs in everything we do.
